I am using joomla 2.5.3 and CB 1.8 and I configured the site to send an email link confirmation when somebody is registered.

But there is not working. No email is send and the activation account can not be completed.

I would appreciate if somebody can help me to identify the problem

verify joomla mail settings correct. verify joomla can send emails.
sounds like your site is not setup to send email correct.
Site->Global Configuration->Server- Mail settings

PHP mail works with most hosting providers but if not use smtp and setup the account information then test

Joomla mail settings are fine I can send an email from contact us.

I am using SMTP for my website.

it have to be something relates to CB something else from 5.23 that did not configure

I configured the registration using joomla and I received the creation of the account on the administrator email and the activation link in the user email. When I switch to CB to do registration, none of the emails are sent.

It might be a missing configuration. Attached some screen shoots
