Thanks to anyone who can give me a bit of insight on this.

Here is what I would link to accomplish:

1. I already have my connection types created in the CB control panel... All works well.
2. I have 4 connection types set up.
3. One of those connection types is set up from mentors
4. Is there anyway I can can have a custom link/button that when clicked automatically places the user into a specif connection type.

As I stated any insight is greatly appreciated.
