The first part of the installation went fine... then tried to complete..

This is the message I get:

Can someone help a poor newbie with a solution?

Please make sure (in Joomla System - Configuration) your temporary folder is correctly set and that folder is writable for the php user.
You can try unpacking the installer yourself and uploading it into the tmp folder. Then run the install from that folder.

temp folder is set to 755

tried unpacking and installing from /tmp

same problem persists,,

Not sure what to do next.

any ideas?
