I'm working on a legacy Web site for a client, which is 3rd-party hosted. It runs Joomla 1.5.20 Stable on PHP 5.2.11. I need to build an interactive user community for it.

I've successfully installed CB 1.7, as well as uddeIM 2.2/stable. The final piece, I think, is forum software. I tracked down Joomlaboard and Fireboard, but they no longer seem to exist or be supported by Joomla; they've been replaced by Kunena. But when I tried to install Kunena, it told me my PHP version wasn't recent enough.

I've pinged the hosting service to upgrade the PHP, but they're slow about responding. Is there another way around the problem? Can anyone point to where I can directly download an appropriate version of Kunena?

SMF 2.0.1 + Joomla 1.7 + Community Builder 1.7? is it possible?

What about phpbb 3.0?
I'm running CB with phpbb 3.0 using the jfusion plugin in a frameless mode so its as good as integrated as well as any other software.

states the following:

PHP 4.3.3+ (>=4.3.3, >4.4.x, >5.x.x, >6.0-dev (compatible)) with support for the database you intend to use.
