While sites like this one and other list it as website.com/component/option,com/itemid

I think you have enabled SEF -- see the global site configuration of Joomla 1.04 and select the SEO tab -- you can turn it on or off depending on which URL style you like better!

Thanks actually I figured it out.

I thought you just enabled the MOSBOT and voila everything would work but no, you also need to rename htaccess.txt >> .htaccess and enable Search Engine Friendly URLS in the global config>SEO menu.
