I use this mambot called accesstotext. When a user clicks on "read more" after the intro text, it loads the content page but inserts a "please register to read more" link (you can customize the text) and does not show the main text. You can apply the mambot to categories and sections of your choosing.

Note: The "read more to register" link points to the standard joomla register page - not CB - but you can change one line of php code to point to the CB register page.
