Thanks for the compilation. This sure is helpful. There is a category on your list for user lookup. On large sites i think this is a problem.

On uddeIM on joomlapolis, try to lookup a user and it takes forever. Maybe because there are 100K users already :). The same happens for My PMS. It tries to display all your users. This is a real problem for CB site with a lot of users.

Is there a PMS that just integrates on the Messages tab of CB, so now the options would be Send Email or Send Message? We could just use CB profile search and once we find the user, we can send a message.

1. You can switch off the "Show all users" link.

2. Use the PMS plugin which shows an "Send Message Box" on a user's profile page. Sure, you have not the comfortable editor but when an user is well known you can still use the uddeIM component.

Thanks sllabi. uddeIM is working great. Is there a way to turn off "compose" from the component all together? It seems harder to explain to the members what to put on the "To:" field than to just take it out altogether. Another option could be to turn off the "To:" but leave the connection list there.

If this is not an option right now, can you please point me to where the "To:" is defined so I can change it to "To:(Username)"?

I am a php Newbie and have gotten as far as finding out that drawWriteForm function is probably displaying the Compose Message Page. I also tried to find a uddeIM language file, but have had no luck.

Users can unter either an username or a realname in this field, so they don't have to care about that.

I highly recommend not to modify the code especially when you are not experienced in PHP. You can add a "hidden" or "disabled" attribute to the input field if you like but do nor remove it.
