Im trying to widen the module to get it to fit into my theme but im having no luck. ive tried looking throug and adding things to uddemodule.css but im having no luck. is there anywhere that defines the width??

There is currently no width statement used in uddeim module except you have specified a width in the "module" class in your site template.

You can add a width to
#uddeim-modulenew p.uddeim-module-head
but I recomment to use relative values here e.g. "100%", so it is relative to the module container.
