16 years 4 weeks ago #60023 by carsten888
error installing plugin:

Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

error when installing component:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Mijn documenten\_websites\joomla_1_5_2\libraries\joomla\filesystem\file.php on line 283

joomla 1.5.2 in legacy mode

both modules did not give any trouble at all installing.

This happens when you are on a very overloaded server or the server hardware is very weak.

Maybe it helps when you first upload the package via ftp and then install the package from the server. This will give you some more CPU time.

To be honest: When this error occurs you should really think about changing the server hardware (or to change the hosting company).

Nice, then you have really a problem ;)

"Maximum execution time of 30 seconds" occurs when a process takes too much time or when a process hangs.

not with 1.0.15. so I guess it has something to do with the extensions or that 1.5's legacy mode is not waterproof for these extensions.

either way, I 'm sticking to the more stable 1.0.15 for now.
