History tells me I will get no direct answer to this question, but I'm gonna' try anyway...

Because I have a broken Joomla installation, I am building a new one from scratch. Same server, different everything-else. I think I know how to move everything that matters over to the new system - everything except users, that is. It appears that CB user tables include fields that point to entities that may not have the same ID number in the new DB, so I suspect that a phpMyAdmin-level copy or backup-restore of the tables will just create problems.

What do I need to do to migrate users from one CB/Joomla site to another?

(I've looked through the Joomla extensions, but none indicate they can do what I want. Am I missing something there?)

Do this query
[code:1]
select * from jos_users u, jos_comprofiler c where c.userid=u.id
[/code:1]
Then export the result to a CSV file.

Then search for "import" on this site and follow the instructions for how to import users back.

Sync the users using the CB sync function after import to be sure.

Hi mikko,
this method works to migrate users information between sites with different versions: joomla 1.0.11 to 1.0.13 and CB 1.0.2 to 1.1?

I see no reason why it would not work.
