I just uploaded an image for my CB profile, and then realized that the image had replaced my avatar on all of my PHPBB posts. Is there are way to turn this functionality off so that my avatar isn't repalced by my cb profile mug shot?

I'd try it this way: Search in your Joomla directories for phpbbconnector.php. Within that file search for function sendavatartophpbb (&$user) and comment everything between the opening { and closing } out.

I think this should do the job.

that should work... the next release will be more flexible on how and when avatars and profile pics are sync'd
