I have a brand spanking new install of Joomla and just installed CB. I want a message board too, so phpBB or Joomlaboard?

I like all the bells and whistles of phpBB, and it has been around for ever, as a plus you have a connector.

SO what do I do to install phpBB and the connector to get it all workig? I am brand new, green as green can be.

Ok, I am fumbling through this...

I installed phpBB in the same Data Base as Joomla.

I installed the files at mysite.net/phpbb

I installed the connector.

I changed Directory for phpBB:: to phpbb

I modifed the regerstration code per the sorceforge page.

I uploaded the sessions.php file that was packaged with the connector.

How do I sync the users?

If I log in with an account into joomla via CB it is not logging me in the phpbb. I have pointed Wrapper to http:\\mysite.net\phpbb

what did I miss?

Ok, it appears to be working. I have a problem with the 2 existing accounts I had already made.

I just created a new account. I logged in and it is logged in phpBB.

SWEET!!!!

Now to get building!

how and where do I install the connector? cant really find a install.txt that tells me how and where thos php files go hehe

What I did was to go to Componets, Community Builder, Plugin Management.

Install it from there. I think I pointed it to the ful xip, but can not remeber.

Correct you point it to the full zip that you downloaded. the only files you would need to upload would be the pacth files... and they should go into the following directory based on your Joomla site directory /components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_phpbbconnector

Note there is a patch to fix an issue with "remember me" logins located at forge.joomla.org/sf/frs/do/viewRelease/projects.phpbb_connector/frs.phpbb_connector_patches.version_1_0_2

Also you should be able to sync users by going to the "Plugin Control Panel" link from the plugin parameters.
