members missing when DB tables copied was created by teclive
Hi there, how is everyone?

My client was using a mambo with the CB, he wanted to upgrade to a joomla. I had some DB work to do on the joomla one so i copied and edited the mambo DB as needed.

Now, while i was working on the Joomla site, more people signed up on his mambo site, so just before i launched the new joomla today, i went and copied the tables from the DB for the users and com_profilers of the mambo site and brought them to the DB that joomla was using.

My problem is though, is....
1. On the Joomla site it only shows 48 members, but when i put the original confifrations one up (the mambo one) it shows 128 members

2. in the admin of the joomla, when i try to approve a user in the CB, nothing happens, and when i try to edit a user, it takes me to ADD USER

hope this all makes sense, any help is appreciated

thank you
tanya

You forgot several tables..

You need ehm that ARO table..

and ehhm... well SEARCH this site coz i've seen this before..

You are not the only one who thinks ALL user info is in J/M-OS_USERS and in comprofiler.. the groups.. ARO.. and maybe more.. are needed too.. for group info..

If you want a more precise tutorial.. do search around here.. as my exacto memory is failing for now..

i need COFFEEEEEE..

Hiya DJ, well, umm, I dont do coffee, but I have every kind of tea under the sun and hot chocolate, perhaps i can offer you a few of those? ;)

WOW, really eh, I had no idea, as apparently nor did many other people, that so many tables were invovled in the members.

I will search around the forum to see what everyone else is doing, I never have luck searching forums, must be Mr. Murphy by my side again

If I cannot find anything, may i come running back to this post with my tail between my legs ?
oh ya, one quick question, after i copy all of the proper tables, must i run the migrations sql from joomla again in the DB?

ok, well good news is i got the member profiles up to 100 now:woohoo:
bad news is, i am using phpbb and the cb and because i use the phpbb sign in box it is not registering the members into the cb profiles. I can edit my profile as a new member but i do not show up in the profile gallery

Teclive,

This is a very serious problem that many of us have. With all of the different components out there that have individual login and registration requirements the problem is only going to get worse. I strongly feel that we need a centralized / unified login / registration component with plugins. The plugins are written for each new component and once the plugin is installed it will handle the registration and login to that component as well as all others that a plugin has been written for.

I feel that without this functionality the problems will get worse and worse. With it I believe that Joomla will explode in both popularity and integration with other programs.

I made this suggestion some time back and have not gotten a single response so I guess for now we are stuck in this hoge poge conundrum of incompatibilities. To see my original suggestion goto www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,38/func,view/catid,11/id,3245#3245/
