New to this site and the mod. My friend runs a site and asked me to help him out as he is a total n00b

He runs a gaming site which is kinda getting pretty big on Joomla 1.0.11. He uses CB version 1.0.1 from the admin section as far as I can see.

I told him he should upgrade, or he can get his site hacked. And of course once I mentioned it I can now do it.

The question I had is actually the following. I can upgrade Joomla itself, actually it should be a migration from what I see.

But is it possible to upgrade CB to a version that will run adequatly on Joomla 1.5 without loosing any of the original data etc.? And if so, is there some documentation that people can recommend. He has about 18000 users, I dont know if they are all active or not.
