I know that CBMailing did this, but it just barely works, and then only with some hacks that have been removed from its joomlacode site, and it now appears to have been abandoned.

I would really like to see a way to send personalized emails to user groups defined by CB lists.

Is there any hope of someone taking over CBMailing and making it into a functional component?

Doesn't groupjive offer something like that?
