I'm working on a portal site for artists submitting art to a juried art show. Part of the signup process will be submitting three images.

I created three tabs, "Submission 1," "Submission 2," and "Submission 3." Each tab has fields for the information about the artist's submission (like size, media, price, description, etc.)

But I'd like to allow the artist to upload a JPG of the piece - yet there's no "image" field type!

Am I hosed?

Whoa! There *is* an "image" field type! It's only on the portrait tab, though.

Is there no way I can use this field type on my own tab?!

No, that won't work, as the image field is the avatar. That would just move the avatar.

I have a custom tab (I just created my own plug-in, but I could easily use a "generic" tab) that needs five images.

Indeed, it could be five images that behave just like the avatar.

So I've hacked it up. I'm enabling "image" as a selectable data type, and then overriding cbFieldHandler in my plug-in's tab to deal with it just like an avatar, but handle the pathing and such.

Well, I see why "image" isn't available now.

It's filled with hard-coding for avatar paths.

It's not "image" at all. It's just avatar. I made a tab with five images, and they all just track my avatar.

Sigh.

Have you tried CB Profile Gallery. The old one still works in 1.5 Legacy with RC2. Nant should have the update out soon after CB 1.2 is released.
