Dear Friends at Joomlapolis! ... I am new to community builder and am, therefore, wondering something. Is there a way to do a mass import of users (such as from a CSV file) into CB? I am wanting to push Access Database info into CB so that each of our employees can have a profile and have it initially populated with the information we have on each of them.
Also ... is there a way to export the data so I can bring it back into our local Access database ... such as with a CSV export from the CB user list?
You could us phpMyadmin and create a proper mysql script to execute in there. Yes it is possible.
You'd need to update the Joomla users table and the CB users table with your data and make sure both are synced. In other words user number X in jos_users is the same number X in the CB users table.
You could set up a test site first on a local server using LAMP or MAMP (mac) to try it and see if it works.
Make a backup of all tables first in case you mess it up!
* LIKE thumbs up system for "liking" content items
* Karma - CB user rating system
* Golf Score Tracker
* Jitter - status update system. "What's on your mind?"
* CB Author Plug - Shows CB author link and avatar in content items. J1.5 compatible and very customizable!
I just completed a project where I imported 2,500 + users from Access to Community Builder using a custom PHP script. Let me know if you still need help with this and I'll send you some information.
