Upon your response I redirected my inquiry to rockettheme.com and they helped solve the problem and now it's working as expected.
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
The solution is:
index.php
Change
<jdoc:include type="component" />
To
<table width="100%"><tr><td><jdoc:include type="component" /></td></tr></table>
