[SOLVED] Send user data to third party site

I would like to make our user experience as easy as possible, when working with our partners.

One way is that when they choose to go to a partners site, normally a registration page, we send their user details (name, address, email etc) to pre-populate the registration form.

Is this achievable in CB or CBSubs?

Not knowing how your partner sites are constructed I am giving a generic answer.

You could use a CB delimiter field that will display a button with a partner site registration form url that has suggested registration fields in its URL.

Something like: www.partner.com/registration.php?email=[email]&name=[name]&variable=[cb_field]

Then your partner site of course must be able to grab the values from URL and prepopulate the form.

Nick,

this is a great pointer.

I think I have found the Joomla version of this and, after speaking to my partner, they have devised a joomla version, which meets their requirements, as:

partner.domain/partners/showlanding?partner=ourpartnerid&username={username}&name={name}&email={email}

I have played at mixing your suggestion and their and cannot make it work (BTW, I am logged into a member account).

They have said that we just need to deliver the base data to their site and they will do the rest.

Any guidance on how to mix the two for success?

Paul

Nick,

I have been digging and playing around and just noticed that a delimiter field is a totally separate field to the standard.

How do I create a delimiter for an exisiting standard field e.g. email, name etc?

I cannot find any guides on their creation!

OK, I think I am getting there!

I have created a new field (delimited) call 'dlfirstname'

In the data box I have entered [cb:userdata field="firstname" user="#me"/]

Is this right?
