How To Uninstall CB 1.8.1 & Re-install It Again?

Hi,

We have been trying to install and work with the CB 1.8.1 on one of our sites. Somehow, it does not appear to be working for us, though CB works perfectly well on all our other sites.

All functionality of the underlying Joomla (2.5.7) appears to be working fine, and we even successfully installed other Joomla extensions on this site. We are therefore toying with the idea of uninstalling CB 1.8.1 altogether, and re-attempt a fresh install of CB on this site. Request you to guide on the procedure to do so. There were a few users registered on the site before CB was installed. So is there anything we should be alert about to ensure that the Joomla articles database is intact? We do not mind sacrificing the existing users' database (other than the superuser/admin).

Extensions > Extension Manager > Manage

select

CB Login
Cb Workflows
CB Online

Disable then uninstall

FTP into your server and delete what you placed in your tmp directory and cb will be uninstalled

Hello dctrsatan,

Thank you for the guidance. All the 3 modules suggested by you were disabled and uninstalled. However, in the menu manager, we continue to see the list of links titled comprofiler. How to remove / uninstall this list completely?

did you ftp into the directory where you uninstalled community builder?

default directory is

/home/USERNAME/public_html/tmp

You need to uninstall the component also!

Hello nant,

Thank you - the component is now uninstalled completely.

If we now click on Users >> User Manager, we get a SERVER 500 error, with the error message saying that "user notes" were not found. Clicking on "User Notes categories", we created a dummy category. But when we try to create a "user note", we get "User notes doesn't exist" message.

Wondering if you could help us out in this situation. Thanks again in advance for your guidance.
