I am running 2.5 on this site and wanted to try some of the features offered in the free community builder before buying the membership and it killed the site.

Exact Joomla version?

Did you have CB 1.9.1 previously installed?

Turn on Joomla debug to maximum level and see if white screens now give error messages.

Does your server error log show anything?

I have never seen this happen before on a new install.

This server is running on a QNAP apache version, so log files are not easy obtained for the webserver.

I have to say this freaking sucks, has ruined my day and now I have to restore from my last backup and figure out what chaged were made since then.

what files and database tables are edited during the install process ?

would deleting the component directories fix anything ?
