Will try and explain.

First of all - every CBSubs license is a lifetime license - this means it never expires and you can use it on your website forever depending on your user count compared to the license level purchased. If needed you can upgrade to the next user level just by paying the difference.

Also, every new license purchase has a one year maintenance period included. This means that during that period you can download any new CBSubs version and it will work just fine with your existing license - and will continue to work with it - once again - forever since the license is a lifetime one.

If you have left your maintenance expire, then your license is bound to older versions of CBSubs and it will not work with newer CBSubs code.

You may extend your maintenance period for another year (or more years), by finding your license in your username profile membership tab and clicking on change options. You can thus extend your existing period from one year (which was automatically the case when you purchased) to two or three, etc. years. Each extra year costs approximately 20% of original license purchase. Once your maintenance period is up to date your license work with the any latest CBSubs version released during that period.

Now if you do not want to bother with yearly maintenance period extensions and have a solid business running, you may choose to purchase the "maintenance during lifetime of product" package which costs as much as your initial license purchase but gives you virtually unlimited maintenance period for your license.
