With regards to the pop-up message notification, is there any chance of it being some type of Ajax pop-up that slides up on a corner of the screen that we decide in the backend?

Thanks for this module!

Hi Slabbi,

I installed 0.9b on Joomla! 1.013. Everything works fine except for autocomplete feature. My browser is IE6 and it points to some syntax error on line 81, char 52. I downloaded the html source of this page. The line 81 is this:

<input type="hidden" name="j2a65566f89efa1de4dedf1a3fc4894c3" value="1" />

I do not know what this means but it may refer to autocomplete box. When I use a dropdown list of users, there is no problem. Let me know if I need to troubleshoot elsewhere. Thanks for a great component!

Oh, btw, autocomplete is enabled on the back-end..

Strange... Could you check if following files exists:

/components/com_uddeim/json.php
/components/com_uddeim/js/Autocompleter.js
/components/com_uddeim/js/mootools.js
/components/com_uddeim/js/Observer.js

Maybe one of these files is missing. Could you post the exact error message and the file/line of it?

I tested it with IE 6 and 7 and it works fine.

yes, I double-checked the mentioned folders and they are all there, as you mentioned. I also checked the generated html and these folders are retrieved by the browser.
I captured an error and enclose it.

these are the values from my browser from line 76 to 82:

<div style="text-align:center; margin:auto; margin: 1.4em 0px 2px 0px;"><input type="submit" name="Submit" class="button" value="Logout" />
<input type="hidden" name="op2" value="logout" />
<input type="hidden" name="lang" value="english" />
<input type="hidden" name="return" value="../../index.php" />
<input type="hidden" name="message" value="0" />
<input type="hidden" name="j2a65566f89efa1de4dedf1a3fc4894c3" value="1" />
</div></form></div></div>

Strange this is, these lines probably refer to the login module but the error happens ONLY when I type in the autocomplete box.

Slabbi, I will troubleshoot myself and will let know the results - I believe this is environment-dependent as I ran the same installation on the other live server and have no problem. So, now I am trying to catch the difference. just to let you know as you need to focus on 1.0! Thank you for a great component and Merry Christmas!

Edit:
So, I found the problem, slabbi. autocomplete feature seems to be a resource-hungry request on the database side. I realized that by turning off the website from the back-end after retrieving html page (so, I first logged in and then turned off). I saw the same error. I then checked my php.ini and there I had a setting for max. allocation of mysql memory =16M per request. I removed it and the error is gone. Interesting, I did not have such issues with joomla search function which scans the entire content. I need to look into this autocomplete sql code more closely. Hopefully it helps.

Does the pop up PM notification work with this version?
