Would it be advisable to use the .htaccess file that came with Joomla?

You should use this file and you have to if you use SEF links. Since your question is not uddeIM but Joomla related you should visit the specialized forums at joomla.org.

Appreciate the help. The only reason why I was asking here is because all other components install without an issue so I was figuring that you might have a bit more insight to my issue. Thanks again though. I look forward to some day being able to use this on my site. lol

If you happen to think of anything that might help me out then please dont hesitate to reply.

For some reason I can't install this on my joomla system. I am using 1.5 RC4 and I keep getting a

everytime I try to install it. I have the newest version of CB as well. Any thought on what I should do?

I have a similar problem with installing only I get a blank page that is 'done' loading with no errors? Doesn't make sense and I really don't know how to go about solving the issue.

I think I'll just wait for Fire Message's release in February--it has some promising features.

Please do not discuss server configuration errors here.

And do not forget: Jommla 1.5rc4 is a release candidate and still contains lots of bugs so it should not be used on a productive system.

Actually the biggest problem is the ftp mode some people have enabled. This is why I give a warning in the installation readme that you should not have ftp mode enabled when you install uddeIM (or other packages).

This is a great addition to our site. There is, however, only one thing I'd like to see, maybe in the back end, or by default, id that "admin" is a hidden user, Like in Jim or Primezilla. But will use this on our non CB site

Many thanks
