I am trying to install on Joomla 1.5 RC3 (takriban) and when i install comprofiler or mod cblogin or any other mod i get error "Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package" any idea what is all this about
safe_mode Off
component folder is writable
pretty sure i didn't miss something obivious did i?

I experienced the same error and yes I had unzipped the file before attempting an install.

I have read the installation guide and the readme file from the distribution, all my directories are writable and I have still been completely unable to install CB, either using the Joomla Admin features, or ftp.

It seems that many other people have similar difficulties installing CB but there must be others who have managed it.

So far I have spent hours on this problem and got nowhere.

The problem is, of course, knowing how much of this situation is attributable to:

the present state of RC3 (in my case I have applied two generations of nightly updates - a week apart - since my initial installation),

how much is attributable to the installation context

and how much is attributable to the CB installation process (automatic and manual).

Terribly frustrating and time-consuming though.
