Avatar/image not displaying in profile

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum to post this in. Please move it elsewhere if appropriate.

I am currently unable to display the avatar/image of users in the profile page and simply get the text description for the image (effectively the user name) in the page instead.

I certainly used have them displayed and all the back-end settings suggests that they should be displayed.

Any ideas ?

Yes, it is published.
