the !important Tag is not supported from IE (even IE 8) and also Opera don't like it. Any other ideas?

I know that you do not support Core Edits but maybe you can give me a hint which other files then com_profiler.html.php are related to this subject. Because I tried to replace all "red" within this file but the background is changing to my desired color in case of an error but if the user fills out the mandatory field it does not go back to default color white ?! Somewhere is probably a check against "red" which is no longer available ...
