Can't update database fields was created by MarkRS
I can't change, for example, the welcome message on one of my plans.
To be honest, this is not limited to CBSubs, there seem to be several things that I can't change through the back end (as opposed to changing SQL tables directly (I know, I know, not a recommended thing to do).
However, if I set file permissions throughout the entire site to 777 it works! What's that about?
No, I haven't got the ftp layer enabled. Yes, I do have "account/apache id" conflicts going on.
Does anyone know the precise area to adjust to fix this?

sounds like a typical (not so good) hosting issue with file ownerships.
This is exactly why joomla team created the ftp layered feature.

Turning the ftp layer on, in this case, doesn't help me at all. It still doesn't save.
