By default if a user has not populated that field nothing is shown on user profiles or user lists. You can configure this behaviour in your CB Configuration area.

Suggest you take a look at the CB Primer Book and maybe what a couple of video tutorials.

Maybe you have CB Privacy installed and configured for that same field and one user has made that field private?
