It seems that the import of translations is not consistent in the code of CB.
Virtually, all seems to work if the language is installed THREE times. It is necessary that the language files are present in (for example the French)

All my tests work fine.
Does official french language plugin work ok?

It works for me on CB 1.7.1, Joomla 1.7.3.
Perhaps you can share what version of Joomla you are using?
I have asked the German team to comment here because things are working just fine for them.

we discussed it in german.
I had to copy the german calendar file into the default_language, then it worked.
I think it's a bug in cb code, but this is the easiest solution. => look for his post
