As I understand it, you want to continue having these on the registration page, but not show them at all to user after that?

If so, you need to create a new teb (call is Admin only) and publish it for special (or is on Joomla 2.5+ you can create a new access level).

This should so the trick. Users will not be able to see any field you put in this special tab since they will be in registered group (which is not in special).
