Since it was confusing for my community members that it was not possible to delete messages in the outbox (they have to wait until the receiver deletes the message), I have modified uddeIM so that the sender can remove messages from the outbox.

Please report errors or problems here.

I have removed the
language and template folder from the archive due to the upload limit of 200k (maybe the admin can change this to 400k). You can compile a new zip with files from uddeIM 0.5b if you like or overwrite the files on your webserver with the files provided here.

3.) When creating a new message uddeIM shows *your* connections (that means connections to other users instead of connections from other users to you)

1. Update the database (go to myphpadmin and enter following SQL statement in the SQL box,
this will create the missing fields).

ALTER TABLE `jos_uddeim` ADD `totrashoutbox` INT( 1 ) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL ;
ALTER TABLE `jos_uddeim` ADD `totrashdateoutbox` INT( 11 ) DEFAULT NULL ;

2. Overwrite all files with the files provided in this archive
(please note that there is a folder com_uddeim in admin\components and in components).


First install:

Added a new feature:

- When writing a message and using realnames is enabled, you can now enter a fullname in the "recipient" field (that was the only way before) or a username (that might be easier to remember for the sender).

I have struggled to update with this package as there are no css files in the default css directory ?
so are we meant to overwrite existing files with these new ones rather than the upgrade method described in the readme?

edit - sorry, this sounds like a moan - love the work easily recovered by installing original zip back up - just thought I would point out missing files.

Yes, just overwrite the existing files: Actually there are only three files which are required for the update but I wanted to create a full installation package first when I recognized that this forum allows 200kb only. So I removed the template and language folder from thew archive and uploaded the rest.

I forgot to mention how to upgrade the database since two addionally fields are required:
