How to hide expired profiles from "connections"...

2 years 1 month ago #328915 by moonlit-media
I run a subscription-based membership site which incorporates CB.

We use the "connections" plug-in, which allows our members to create "connections" between one another (like "friending" on Facebook).

Being that it is a subscription-based membership site, eventually - if people do not renew their membership, they become "expired" (and also entered into the user group "expired" in CB & Joomla).

The problem is: We do not want expired members to continue to show as being "connections" inside our current members' list of people they are connected to.

Is there a way that expired members can not be listed as "connections" under user's "connections"?

Thank you.

Blocked Joomla accounts won't be visible there, but blocked Joomla users also won't be able to use the site anymore. CBSubs is capable of blocking them until they renew their subscription though, but that won't help if you've a free tier. Only other solution I can think of is for your subscription system to execute a database query to set accepted to 0 in the _comprofiler_members database table for their connections so they don't display to anyone except the profile owner. CBSubs is also capable of doing that relatively easily.
