Joomla Article Custom Fields in CB Blog

8 months 2 weeks ago #334779 by cjsmiff
Hi,
I have got CB Blog set to use Joomla Articles. I have also got Custom Fields for Joomla Articles but they don't appear when the user adds a blog item. They only appear in Joomla Admin. How do I make them appear when adding a Blog Item in CB Blog please?
Kind regards :-)

CB Blogs is a simple blogging plugin. It does not support custom fields. For that I suggest setting CB Blogs mode to Joomla instead of internal storage. Next you'll need to adjust the content component permissions in Joomla so users have access to the Create Article page. Now you can use Joomla's built in create article page to deal with creating blog posts, which will support all of Joomla's article fields.

Thank you for your speedy reply! :-)
I have already got CB Blog set to use Joomla Articles but I hadn't enabled Content permissions for Registered Users. I have done that now but it didn't make a difference (screenshot attached).
Kind regards :-)

You need to use Joomla's create article page not CB Blogs. You'll probably need to adjust the Create Access in CB Blogs so they can't use the CB Blogs create blog page. You'll need a Joomla menu item to Joomla's create article page.
