[SOLVED] Userregistration fails was created by Serathil
Hello Guys,
i found a new problem with the Community Builder.
When i would like to register a new user i get an errorpage with:
42 - Following Contact could not be updated: COM_CONTACT_WARNING_SAME_NAME

It happens if the user's name is exactly like one in the database and after i testet a bit i also found out that it also happens if the name WAS in the database(even after the registered user with the same name was deleted).

It annoys me because there are people with exactly the same name and everone of them should be able to register.

I hope you understand my bad english and can find a solution.

Issue isn't coming from CB. Something else is causing your issue. Name does not need to be unique. Only Username, Email, and ID must be unique. If you are not displaying Username on registration then Name is being transferred to Username which will result in already registered user errors.

Hm okay sounds bad for me ;)
Well i display the Username for registration. Although this error is shown, the registration is transferred and the user is created.

But thanks for your help!



SOLVED: The Contactcreator from Joomla was still activated under plugins. After deactivation it all worked fine.

Hi,
I know that's an old discussion but ..
What do you meens by contactcreator .. ?
I've the problem as you but I don't find a contactcreator to disable ..

Extensions -> Plugins -> User-...

I use the german version with "Kontakterstellung"
