Auto Actions with Task Scheduler - POWERFUL! ... but one question

7 months 2 weeks ago #335053 by bascherz
Hey all,

I need to trigger the saving/publishing of a specific article every month to cause one of my plugins to execute that sends an email containing the article. Does anyone know how to do this? I already have the query formed that always selects the right article (gotta love naming conventions!). What I need is to simulate a user in either site back or front saving the article as published. I am guessing it could be fairly simple PHP code. This may seem like the wrong category, but it's the context that counts!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

It's possible to execute custom PHP using a Code action. You could give that a try with Joomla API to load and save an article. I cannot help you any further with paid products without an active subscription though, sorry.

Right, that's what I am trying to do. I just don't know the PHP to do it. I've posted an article on Joomla StackExchange , so I'll see where that gets me.

I do understand and thanks, Kyle.
