11 years 7 months ago - 11 years 7 months ago #208000 by agbkorf
after selecting an image for the profile i get an error message: "Error occurred during the moving of the uploaded file. Method: Move"

In J256 i have set up a system ftp user, so it has every rights in the folders.

edit: if needed i can send you credentials for a superuser in my environment.

Sounds like a permissions issue. Check that images/ and tmp/ folders have correct permissions (755, 775, 777, whichever works). Joomla FTP setup has nothing to do with frontend; it doesn't use FTP on frontend for security purposes (you don't want frontend with unrestricted file permissions).

could it be caused by the lack of ImageMagic or NetPBM? G1D1 is also missing.

(i am able to recompile the server using easyapache)

You have GD2 and it's set to GD2 so that shouldn't be an issue. It purely comes down to a permissions problem of some sort, which is preventing the move of the uploaded file from PHP tmp to its destination. Ensure within configuration.php that the tmp directory is properly specified.
