[#7492] How to check if an CB Gallery Field

5 years 1 month ago - 5 years 1 month ago #311267 by MMDoege
As a condition in Auto Action Field Type I need to verify if an CB Gallary field is empty (has no media) or not.
If true Auto Action will reset and modify other fields.

Simple substitution like [cb:if cb_gallery_field = ""]1[/cb:if] seem not to work.

However how can I get a result that shows Gallery is empty?

Which variable triggers the message:
'THIS_GALLERY_IS_CURRENTLY_EMPTY_f8e6be' => 'This gallery is currently empty.' ?

Can I make use of that variable?

Thanks.

You'd need to use a CB Query Field and count the number of entries they've uploaded for the asset that gallery field is using then condition against that. Will review adding a PHP value output for gallery fields to just return the media upload count so this could be possible in the future, but for now gallery fields only have HTML output which includes the entire gallery HTML.
