Theres some things that need work, but I am VERY grateful that the ball is rolling. Thank you Robert.

I have successfully installed Robert's advanced search component and it is searching well on all core and custom fields in my Joomlas installation.

I haven't tested out 'multiple field' searches yet - it may be that putting keywords into different fields doesn't perform an aggregate search, will report back on this.

Also, not sure yet if the component will register 'new fields' added after installation of the component.

It is possible to put an inline text link to advanced search using this component, rather than a separate menu item. This can be added near the name search box and adds the advanced search option. I have also added some explanatory text above the search box so users are clear that the core search box performs only name searches, and that the advanced search text link is used for searching all fields.

If anyone wants to see this in action, let me know and I will PM a link to the website. I don't want to publicise the link here as the site is not yet launched.

installed hack advanced search creates search field in database selected certain options to be searchable
advance tab pulls custom fields
i click search to return results and i get redirected to my home page
maybe i slipped up some where
has anyone encouter this same affect and what did you do to rectify the issue.

Can you install the component without modifying the code or the db?

Also, I advise to read my various caveats in earlier posts. Not sure about multiple field searching on this component, and whether it recognises new fields after installation. Make sure all your fields and lists are how you want them BEFORE installation. If you need to reinstall to get new fields recognised, make sure you back up any modified php files.
