How to disable the new private messaging feature

Unpublish "Private Message System" within CB > Plugin Management. As you've left it published the new internal model is simply working as intended.

The CB plugin is now unpublished, but regular users still have the Messages dropdown as shown above. How to get rid of that?
**( OK, turning off the CB UddeIM plugins removed the Messages dropdown)

BUT where can I find the documentation for this new PM feature? Since CBPM going to eventually replace uddeIM, I would like to switch to using it, and configure it accordingly for our needs (only SuperAdmin can send PMs, to all other users)

There is no documentation for the new PMS functionality. It was just released a few days ago. To use it simply publish Private Message System within CB > Plugin Management. To configure it edit it within CB > Plugin Management and review the Parameters tab carefully. You can also migrate UddeIM messages from the parameters as well.

Thanks, I will dig around in there and see if I can puzzle it out. (*you know, a little DOCUMENTATION would be very welcome!)

BTW, I notice in the Tabs manager some translations are missing... some of the tab titles are left as
_UDDEIM_PM_PMSTAB
_UDDEIM_PM_PMSLINK
_UDDEIM_PM_TABINBOX

Those are not related to the new PM system, right?

Those are UddeIM language keys that are a part of UddeIMs CB plugins. CB has no translations for those as those plugins are responsible for them. My guess is because you unpublished their related plugins.
