Strange problem with memory error when logged in

3 years 7 months ago #319811 by cjmicro
The page is www.retiredracehorseproject.org/join

I have a page set up for subscription options (CB Subs) but if a user is logged in the page throws the following errors:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8192 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/libraries/CBLib/CBLib/Database/Table/Table.php on line 411

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/libraries/vendor/joomla/registry/src/Registry.php on line 89

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/driver.php on line 1907

Warning: Unknown: Cannot call session save handler in a recursive manner in Unknown on line 0

I have server people looking into it also, but do you have any ideas?

Is there a full call stack for that error in your servers error log or in CBSubs > History Log? We'd need to be able to work backwards and see where it's coming from exactly to know what's happening. One quick test you could do is unpublish your plans 1 by 1 until the page allows you to access it. Is it that page specifically you linked throwing errors or is it the buttons throwing errors after being clicked?

I was just getting ready to message you back! Thanks for the quick reply. The server people increased memory limits and it is working now. However, do you think it is still important for me to check that or would the memory issue likely have been the culprit?

With a 50331648 byte limit you had a memory limit of only about 50mb. So increasing your memory limits was the correct solution as 50mb is just far too little for a Joomla install with extensions. You shouldn't need to do anything further unless you hit this issue again even after increasing memory limits.
