Is the CBGallery integrated into Kunena forum enough so users can choose a gallery image to embed rather than using a url link?

No, CB Gallery does not and likely never will integrate with Kunena in such a way. Once CB Gallery has embed codes you'd just use its BBCode embed though and it'll be fine.
