fields diplayed only for user or group users

12 years 4 months ago #185598 by erilam
Hi all,

I'm searching for a way to display field in profile just for user himself or user from the same list of profile. I saw in this page www.allmysocials.com/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=items&id=233:substitution-usage that substitution can do it in a title but I didn't find how :(

Thx for answers

Joomla 1.5.25, CB 1.7.1

You'd need to use a delimiter field and surround the substitution with an IF substitution. Example as follows.

[cb:if user_id="myid"][username][/cb:if]

The above example would show my username to only myself. For everyone else it would be an empty field, which you could set in CB > Configuration > User Profiles to hide empty fields.

Thx Krileon for your answer and sorry for time I took to reply.

I try to do use a delimiter field and it doesn't work so I put here some screenshot, may be it can help you to see where I miss something and help someone else on the forum to do it.

Here is the field I want to hide for others except user

Here is the field made with substitution

Here is the result with user account

and here is the result with another account

As you can see the resultat is the same and my delimiter field did'nt appear onthe profile. Where is my error ?

Delimiter fields are meant to have content. I misunderstood your post and thought you wanted to render another field, but with substitutions which you place in the body of the delimiter field and not its title. Substitutions however do work in Titles if that's what you're trying to do.

My will is to display or not a field following the profile or a CB list of user. But if I use substitution in title, it doesn't work as I describe before.

You don't place the substitution in the title. You place it in "Description/"i" field-tip: text or HTML:" of the delimiter field.
