Writing My Own Field Type Plugin to Upload Docs was created by malaiselvan
Hi,

I am a Joomla developer but new to community builder. I need to write a field type plugin to upload documents.

Requiirements:
1. I need to create a field on my registration form to allow the user to upload a document (.doc or .pdf)
2. In the admin side, I need to see the uploaded document

Is there any guideline or sample to write my own plugin.

Guide me please.

Yeah, well you can become a CB Documentation subscriber and download such a pluging.

Thanks for replying to my query. Do you have any demo/screenshots on how the file upload plugin works.

Only after I show the demo, I can get the payment approval from my client. :-(

works like the image field plugin (included in CB 1.2.1) without the thumbnail.

To my knowledge we do not have a demo site setup for the file field. However it does function quite well; it works exactly as the image field type does, but instead it's files. It also supports AJAX for editing the field while viewing the profile (optional).
