Registration without user name

Registration without user name was created by kross76
We want people to be known by their unique email addresses and not deal with user names. On 1.2.2, I disabled the user name field, and successfully registered a test case using my email address, first and last name, etc. It seems to work fine. And you can then log in with your email address.

Can anyone see an issue with this?

This should not cause any issues as CB will automatically generate a username for the user as username is absolutely required. Username will be generated from either email or name. If any issue is to arise then please revert the change as Joomla requires Username, Name, Email, and Password to be provided.

It looks like the user name generated is first name + space + last name. Is there an option to generate the user name from the email address? That would seem to be better?

Not without an integration, CB and Joomla are not designed as such. You'd need a CB Plugin to utilize the onAfterUserRegister to change and save the username as the email address. Please see tutorials in signature for information on trigger usage in a cb plugin.
