Hi.
I would like to create a site where certain users (based on user group selected on registration, like "teacher or "student") are allowed to create their own mini sites.
The mini site would have it´s own template (I think metatemplate would do this for me) and feature a blog layout that contain articles/blogs the owner have written or specified. And ads they have placed using adsmanager.
Other users should then be allowed to be a member of this site, which would give them access to certain articles otherwise restricted, and join the mini-site´s mailing list, if one is available.
The whole idea is to have "teachers" set up their own website with minimal effort, and select the content they would like to display. Then have "students" join their site (the site/sites the students are a member of should be saved in their CB profile).
Is this possible, and if so, do you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Registered users are given profiles and not necessarily their own site. There also is no mailing list feature for users to have their own personal mailing lists. Am also not aware of such a plugin to install. For different profile types you'd need the assistance of CBSubs to accomplish. It's possible to offer multiple templates by way of our incubator project CB Template Changer which requires a Professional subscription.
