Downsides to changing CB forgot user/pass to core?

13 years 3 months ago #150514 by sjnims
I want to be able to allow users to reset their passwords to something they will remember vs. the CB way of setting a random password, and have found that the Joomla Core forgot user/pass does allow this.

I do understand that once a user resets his/her password the CB way, they could then login, go to update profile, and change their password there, but let's assume for purposes of this conversation that updating a profile is off the table.

What then, if any, are the cons of using the cb login module, but changing the link for forgot user/pass to point to the core joomla forgot user/pass?

Using core forgot feature shouldn't be of issue as long as you remain using CBs login module. The password regardless is stored within _users database table for either method.
