Problem with Ajax Email checker

13 years 2 months ago #157135 by Haggisdog
Problem with Ajax Email checker was created by Haggisdog
I'm using the User Management component of Community Builder 1.3.1. I recently enabled the Ajax Email Checker using the setting of "Yes, Check only for email server accepting email'. However, almost every new user cannot submit a valid email address even though most of their emails appear to be from reasonable mail providers (gmail, aol, hotmail, etc.).

Is there some setting I need to change so that these are validated correctly?

Thanks for any tips or advice.

The ajax checker is no guarantee. It can not always check for validity of an email address. This depends entirely on how the address host responds to the test or if your host is blocking the request entirely. A lot of factors come into play, but often 3rd party sites such as custom domains fail. Hotmail and yahoo for example should work fine most of the time assuming the email doesn't have really obscure characters which too could affect it. Please upgrade to CB 1.4 as your install is out of date.
