[SOLVED] Editor Text Area Field was created by cte2087
I have set up filed that utilizes the editor text area field so users could create their own custom ad with an image. The image upload function seems to be missing the browse function. Is this a restriction with this field type?
Is there an easier way to have user submitted ads that can be templated and also ads that can be fully custom (add and image)? The amount of ads a user gets depends on the subscription level.
I have been toying around with the delimiter function, but I cannot seem to get it to work the way I need it to. I am sure I am doing something wrong, but I am at wits end and I am willing to pay for someone to help me finish this.
Please help.

Editor Fields render your Joomla editor, so whatever features it provides then so can the field provide. I don't recommend allowing users to upload images directly to your Joomla site through the editor, you're simply asking to be hacked by allowing this. Best approach is to provide an Image fieldtype where users can securely upload safely or have them host their images off-site and link them through HTML in the editor fields content. For substitution usage please see tutorials within my signature.
If you need a contract developer I recommend starting at joomlancers or similarly specialized sites that offer Joomla based contract development.

Thank you for the tips. So...instead of the edit text field, I should use an image upload field along with text fields to make these "coupon ads"?
I have posted to Joomlacers, but no one is bighting.
I have been working with Nick on trying to figure the best way to do this with CB, but it seems like there is an easier way then using all delimiter fields. Possibly a "component as content" plugin and utilize and ad manager?

The above is simply and example of substitution usage and likely will require changes.
If you're needing ad management then it's likely best to use an extension designed to provide ad management. I believe there are a few on Joomla.org.

You would use an image field to allow the user to upload and image then use a Delimiter field to format the image. Set the image field on a not shown on profile tab. You could also combine this with a web address field and do something like the below to provide a linked image.Thank you for the tips. OK...so I am trying to use a table to form the layout for my test delimiter field, but I am only getting one field to show. Do you still have the login I provided? Could you take a look at what I am trying to do. I do not think it is a syntax thing, but I could be wrong. Let me know if you need me to PM you with the info again.

Substitutions of [FIELD_NAME] render raw output. If you want the actual image to render you'll need to use the userfield substitution type. Again, please see tutorials within my signature. Detailed usage information is provided on substitution usage as well as multiple examples.
