"Direct Access not allowed" on Creating new field

13 years 1 month ago #160041 by alek
Hello,
On a fresh CB 1.4 and Joomla 1.6 install, I get the "Direct Access to this location is not allowed." error message when wanting to create a new field form CB--> Field Management as the URL showing is "http://[mydomain.com]/administrator/index.php"

I'm on PHP 5.2, all the directory are Writable except the file "configuration.php"
Where should I look for a solution?

Thank you very much,:(

Alek

This typically implies you've a legacy plugin installed. Please disable CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved.

Thank you very much for the swift reply.
However, I have unpublished all the Plugins except Default Language and CB Core (they are not unpublishable), and I still get Direct Access to this location is not allowed when trying to create a field in Field Management.
Would you have any other idea I could try?
Thank.

Plugins are loaded regardless of publish status in Field Management. You'll need to uninstall 3rd party CB plugins until resolved unfortunately. Joomla 1.6 does not have a legacy mode so Mambo and Joomla 1.0.x extensions will not work. This includes CB plugins using Mambo or Joomla 1.0.x API.

Thank you very much for your help, but I have already done 3 re-installs for this project and I am giving-up CB. I happily used CB back in 2005, but it does not seem to me to be ready for Joomla 1.6 and it is the version I'm using.
I'm reluctantly trying Jomsocial in which I feel a bit "en prisoned" but which at least does not break the site.
I may not adopt it in the end but I do not see many alternatives.
Thank you again,
Alek

Again, it is something that you've installed resulting in direct access errors. CB 1.4 is stable on Joomla 1.6. At any rate, best of luck whatever you decide.
